Seem so normal among teens especially(15–25)nowadays, But what actually it is and what causes it and why so many people are anxious like we have never seen before?

According to a survey seven-in-ten teens today see anxiety as major problem among their peers. Concern about mental health cuts across gender, racial and socio-economic lines, with roughly equal shares of teens across demographic groups saying it is a significant issue in their community.

According to Pew Research Center, One of the main reasons behind being so anxious is either being under pressure to do good in life and school or being under pressure to look good as we all know, It’s a age of social media and Today’s teens are constantly connected to social media. It’s not surprising that their self-esteem―and worldview ―becomes connected to responses to social media posts. It’s hard for them not to compare their way of life, look and success to what they see others posting on social media, Constantly comparing your lifestyle and look with polish celebrities and Instagram models would be childish but yet most of us are related to it which makes our self-esteem low and makes us more anxious about our appearance and put us under pressure and trap us in the feelings of being not ‘Good enough”.

Pandemic and it’s effects

As we all know 2020 was one of the most difficult year for most of us and it took millions of jobs, Put students into home schooling, Restricted our movement, Stuck in home 24/7, Far away from family members, Uncertainty of the future and constantly fear of getting virus.

And with all this, people who were not victim of anxiety became anxious and depressed and yet in 2021 we’re uncertain about the future, Even tho many Governments have made their vaccines but yet with all this misguiding information and who knows how long it will take to control in this situation and everyone get vaccinated.

With all this fear and anxiety, Millions of people are anxious for their and their family’s future.

So, How can we reduce anxiety during this time?

There are many things we can do to reduce our stress and anxiety.

Take a break from watching news all the time.

Watching news 24/7 also cause anxiety and fear.Try to reduce the TV/Social media and do some other activities.

Make a list of things that you can control.

Instead of thinking the things you don’t have or are not under your control, Try to think about the things you have, Make a list of things as small as what you will cook today, The people you can talk to and the small activities you can do.

Try to built new habits.

Try to built new habits, New things to not just feel busy but also to keep yourself healthy during this time. Do some yoga, Meditation, Workout, Build new habits of reading books, These habits are not just healthy but also keep yourself calm during this time.

Sleep enough.

Getting enough sleep also boost your mood and relax your mind during the day.

Apply these small small activities in your day, And remember YOU'RE NOT ALONE
